Ayanokoji and The Whiteroom
Background information:
The white room is a learning facility established by Ayanokoji’s father. It was a way for him to show that genes are not the only way to make someone a genius. Kiyotaka’s father believed a genius could be made by suffering through intense learning and training from a young age.
In total, there are 19 generations which is just 19 different grades/years of students. Ayanokoji was a part of the 4th generation, also known as the “Demonic generation”. This generation focused on individualism and self-reliance.
Now that you have an idea of what the whiteroom was like. I can start showing you how you can apply some of its teachings to your own life.
Quick thing I want to mention though is to only take the posative lessons from the whiteroom, don’t lock yourself in a room until you become smart it doesn’t work that way. Other than that lets get straight into it.
Let us first talk about the subjects they cover in the white room. From then on we will dive into what subjects to study along with covering how to simulate a whiteroom feel to always be focused.
Here are all the subjects taught in the white room:
Liberal Arts
Sciences
Martial Arts
Self-defense techniques
Worldly wisdom
Japanese
Mathematics
Economics
Political Science
Physical Education
All of these topics were studied at a level higher than even professionals. The best way for you to incorporate these teachings into your own life would be to choose a few subjects that interest you and focus on studying them intensely. Don't just aim for surface-level knowledge, but really dive deep and try to become an expert in these subjects.
AI has now made it easier than ever to learn topics, start by asking ChatGPT to explain it to you as if you were a 5-year-old. Keep asking follow-up questions, and each time ask for a more detailed explanation. Here is an example of me breaking down Economics to ChatGPT:
To simulate a white room feel, it's important to create a dedicated space for studying and eliminate distractions. Don’t just turn off your phone, there is a method that I talked about in a previous newsletter. It was to turn your phone to black-and-white mode.
Doing this eliminates all the emotions and urges that come with the stimulating color of your phone. You can turn it on by following these instructions → https://www.theverge.com/23637672/grayscale-iphone-android-pixel-samsung-galaxy-how-to
Remember that self-reliance and individualism are key concepts in the white room teachings. Don't rely on anybody but yourself.
Burnout is not real, do you honestly think Ayanokji was able to take breaks and watch Netflix in the white room? NO CHANCE.
To truly rise to the level of the Whiteroom students you have to fully believe that these excuses that people call “normal” are completely made up by people who don’t want to put in the work.
Lastly what has worked for me to keep ultimate focus throughout the day is to keep a small notebook that you can find at the dollar store. And wright 4-5 todos for the day on it and check them off as you complete them. Don’t create a to-do list online as you will not get the same dopamine hit as you would on paper.
Most people focus on the long term and while this is smart sometimes, your main focus should be on the short term. Ask yourself “What can I do in this moment right now that will put me in the best position for the next moment?”
If you can do this you can become just like the masterpiece of the white room Ayanokoji Kiyotaka.
